Launched on Saturday 2nd September 2023, Naturkjærlighet invited the local community to participate in collaborative art making, adding to the gallery walls which were covered with paper spanning 20 meters. Everyone was invited to contribute with reference to the theme, Naturkjærlighet, which is Norwegian for ‘love of nature’.
Technical skill was unimportant but there were some rules to encourage cohesion and structure:
- COLOUR: Use only black and white materials.
- MATERIALS: Dry materials are preferred to avoid painting the gallery floors as well as the walls!
- SUBJECT: Reference only nature, specifically the local surroundings.
- SCALE: You can draw any size you wish; the more diverse, the better.
- COMPOSITION: Please respect the artwork next to yours; join your artwork to it, but do not erase it.
